Statistical correlations in nuclear many-body states
Statistical correlations of nuclear many-body states are explored in the Odls shell model as a function of the strength of residual interactions. Model independent predictions for correlation functions and distributions, developed from parametric random-matrix theory, are found to describe the observed nuclear behavior for excited states. In particular, we find that correlations generally decre...
متن کاملMany-body dynamics in nuclear spin diffusion
Since its introduction by Bloembergen in 1949, nuclear spin diffusion has been a topic of significant interest in magnetic resonance. Spin diffusion, which can be defined as the transfer of spin polarisation induced by the dipolar interaction, is a ubiquitous transport mechanism in solids. Experimental observations of spin diffusion contain structural information. However, the many-body nature ...
متن کاملQuantum Many-Body Theory of Low Energy Nuclear Reaction Induced by Acoustic Cavitation in Deuterated Liquid
There have been a number of reports of observation of nuclear fusion events in acoustic cavitation experiments with deuterated liquid. Some of the reported results have been interpreted as a result of achieving thermonuclear fusion temperatures (~a few keV) during acoustic bubble cavitation (ABC). We propose an alternative theoretical model for the ABC fusion based on Bose-Einstein condensation...
متن کاملQuantum Many-Body Theory and Mechanisms for Low Energy Nuclear Reaction Processes in Matter
Recently, a theoretical model of Bose-Einstein Condensation (BEC) mechanism has been developed to describe low-energy nuclear reaction in a quantum many-body system confined in a micro/nano scale trap. The BEC mechanism is applied to explain various anomalous results observed recently in experiments involved with low–energy nuclear reaction processes in matter and in acoustic cavitation. Experi...
متن کاملTowards a consistent approach to nuclear structure: EFT of two- and many-body forces
We review the nuclear forces currently in use, i. e., the high-precision NN potentials of the 1990’s and the nuclear twoand many-body forces based upon chiral effective field theory (EFT). We argue that the EFT approach is superior to any of the older schemes. Since accurate chiral forces are available now, the stage is set for microscopic nuclear struture to move into a new and exciting era.
